The location of commercial units in homes will become possible

This is provided for by the amendments to the Law on Internal Trade, approved by the Government as part of the debureaucratization package, reports rupor.md.

It is proposed, in derogation from the Housing Law, to allow the use of residential spaces in residential blocks for economic activities (placing a guesthouse or agri-pension, but only on the ground floor, as well as online or mail-order commerce), provided that economic agents strictly comply with the activity schedule and ensure the sanitary maintenance of all spaces, including common ones.

It is also proposed to allow the use of private homes for the conduct of 10 types of activities: cafe, confectionery, fast-food establishment, repair shop, commercial brokerage, rental services, etc. Such entities are required to comply with several requirements, such as ensuring access for control bodies to all premises related to entrepreneurial activity, having the consent of the homeowner, and others.

It is expected that these changes will allow small entrepreneurs to save resources by using rented or own real estate to conduct their business.

The draft law is to be approved by Parliament.
