He purchased a 21-room apartment measuring approximately 2,500 square meters in Monaco for 471 million euros. It is the most expensive real estate transaction in history.

The apartment is spread over five floors in the Principality of Monaco's most luxurious residential complex, 'Le Renzo', built in an area of the Maraterra district on the seafront inaugurated by Prince Albert in 2024, according to Bloomberg. With several terraces overlooking the Mediterranean Sea, the apartment also has a private pool, jacuzzi and at least eight parking spaces, according to the agency. The sale was completed in 2024 and its price exceeds the 310 million euros obtained by real estate developer Nick Candy for the sale of his apartment in the Chelsea district of London, the most expensive known to date.

Akhmetov, who heads an industrial conglomerate that includes investments in metallurgy, mining and energy, has a fortune of around six billion euros. His real estate investments have already caused a stir. In 2019, Rinat Akhmetov purchased Villa Les Cedres on the French Riviera, which belonged to King Leopold II of Belgium, for which he paid 200 million euros. Rinat Akhmetov has a growing portfolio of renewable energy assets and projects in Romania, recently taking over ArcelorMittal Tubular Products Iași and is also interested in the Liberty Galați steel plant, formerly Sidex.
