Overview
Wind energy • BESS • 110 kV connection • Private land • Project ready for development
TOT Capital is looking for a strategic investor, financial partner, developer or buyer for a renewable energy project in the Republic of Moldova, intended for the development of a wind farm of over 30 MW, integrated with a battery energy storage system - BESS of up to 50 MW.
The project has privately owned land, analysis of the wind resource, documentation and approval for connection to the 110 kV electrical grid, according to information provided by the owner.
The objective is to identify a partner or investor who wants to take over, finance or develop the project to the construction and commercial operation stage.
An energy project ready for development
The project brings together in a single opportunity the main elements necessary for the development of a public utility wind farm:
wind capacity: 30 MW+
BESS: up to 50 MW
privately owned land
analysis of wind potential
technical documentation available
notice of connection to the electricity grid
connection provided at 110 kV level
documents and approvals available for project development
land intended for the construction of energy infrastructure.
The documents, the validity of the connection notice, the technical parameters and the legal situation will be presented to investors as part of the due diligence process.
Wind farm of over 30 MW
The project is designed for the development of a wind power plant with a capacity of 30 MW or more, depending on the final technical configuration and approved parameters.
The analysis of the wind resource available for the site constitutes the basis for assessing the energy potential and for designing the future power plant.
For the investor, the next step is independent validation of:
wind measurements and studies;
turbine configuration;
estimated energy production;
capacity factor;
the location of the turbines;
access infrastructure;
connection conditions;
CAPEX and OPEX;
the financial model.
BESS system – up to 50 MW
The project includes the possibility of integrating a Battery Energy Storage System – BESS, with a power of up to 50 MW.
Storage can allow for more flexible management of the energy produced by the wind farm and can play a role in balancing production and commercial use of energy, depending on the final configuration and regulatory framework.
The development of BESS is particularly relevant for the Moldovan market. The Ministry of Energy has explicitly included storage in the tenders for large-scale wind projects, and winning projects from 2026 include the obligation to install BESS systems.
Connection to the 110 kV network
One of the important elements of the project is the possibility of connection to the 110 kV electrical grid, according to the available approval and documentation.
For a project of this size, the existence of connection documentation can be an essential element for reducing risks during the development stage.
The connection notice must be verified by the investor as part of the technical and legal due diligence, including:
the holder;
approved power;
connection point;
validity period;
technical conditions;
the necessary works;
connection costs;
any obligations and guarantees.
Privately owned land
The project benefits from privately owned land, intended for the development of energy infrastructure.
This aspect can simplify the structuring of the project and provides the investor with a real estate asset directly associated with the development of the plant.
The exact area, land category, cadastral destination, and possibilities for placing turbines and infrastructure must be verified in the legal and urban planning documentation.
Why is the project interesting for an investor?
The project can be analyzed by:
energy companies
wind farm developers
infrastructure funds
renewable energy funds
institutional investors
family offices
strategic investors
international companies in the energy sector
BESS developers
companies interested in hybrid wind + storage projects.
The model can be structured as:
Full sale of the project
or
Partnership with strategic investor
or
Joint Venture for development and exploitation
or
Financing for the construction phase.
Moldova – a developing market for wind energy and BESS
Interest in wind projects and storage systems in the Republic of Moldova has increased significantly.
In August 2026, the Ministry of Energy announced seven winning projects in the auction for 170 MW of wind capacity, all with the obligation to install BESS systems.
The Ministry of Energy also announced in 2026 measures to accelerate investments in energy production and storage, including reducing administrative bottlenecks in the authorization and connection chain.
