Carrefour Romania operates 478 stores nationwide, including hypermarkets, supermarkets and convenience stores, generating gross sales of approximately 3.2 billion euros in 2024. “This transaction marks an important strategic step for Pavăl Holding and reflects our confidence in the long-term potential of the Romanian market. The transaction was supported by KPMG Legal – Toncescu și Asociații, together with the KPMG Tax and Advisory teams in Romania. The acquisition reflects Pavăl Holding’s expansion strategy, which already includes notable acquisitions such as the Practiker network. Karina Pavăl studied at Queen Mary University of London and the University of Cambridge, where she obtained a master’s degree in finance and real estate. After completing her studies, she returned to the country to contribute to the development of the family business. She is the heiress of the empire built by brothers Dragoș and Adrian Pavăl, including Dedeman, but also 30% from the Tei group, which includes Farmacia Tei and Bebe Tei.
